Limited SST Card and Supervisor SST Card Effective Date
Dear Commissioner Chandler,
The New York City Special Rigger’s Association is highly concerned with the safety of our workers and the general public. As such, we encourage safe practices on our job sites and safety training for our employees.
Worker training that was created by LL196/17 was given several “milestone” dates for implementation, the next of which is December 1, 2018.
Our Board of Directors is concerned that this date is too ambitious, and encourages you to delay this phase to June 1, 2019.
This additional time will allow the curriculum to be better developed, for training centers to receive approval from the DOB for their classes, for those training centers to actually offer those classes, and for our employees to complete the required training.
