Local Law 81 of 2017 requires that certain buildings under ten stories, excluding 1-, 2- and 3-family buildings, retain a construction superintendent, who, among other things, is responsible for maintaining a safe job site. Further, it requires such buildings to create a site safety plan and keep such plan on site. The language is as follows:
Site safety plans shall require the approval of DOB where specified in this code or the NYC building code.
This bill also sets forth requirements for construction superintendents at certain construction or demolition sites, including but not limited to: a site safety plan kept on site; the designation of a primary construction superintendent prior to the commencement of work on certain job sites; the duties of the construction superintendent; inspection requirements; reporting and log-records.
