Pre-Shift Safety Meetings

Updated: Aug 3, 2018

Local Law 204 of 2017 mandates pre-shift safety meetings for workers at construction sites that require a site safety manager, site safety coordinator, or construction superintendent.

Pre-shift safety meetings must be conducted by a competent person and consist of a review of activities and tasks to be performed during the shift and a review of safety risks. The permit holder must maintained for each worker, a record of one pre-shift safety meeting per week which includes the date/time of the meeting; the name, title and company affiliation of the worker; and the name, title and company of the competent person who conducted the meeting with their signature.
