DOB Begins Online-Only License Renewals
NYC Department of Buildings will no longer accept license renewals in-person or by mail. Beginning today, all license renewals are being accepted online. Please see the Service Notice for more information.
NYC DOB Proposed Rule – Amendment of Fees for Facade Report Filings – Hearing on June 1st at 11am
The DOB just released a previously Proposed Rule realted to the Amendment of Fees for Facade Report Filings. The rule was originally published in the City Record on 2/27/20 and originally scheduled for a public hearing on 3/30/20 at 10am in the 5th floor conference room at 280 Broadway. The hearing was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The hearing will now take place remotely on 6/1/20 at 11am. This proposed rule is available for viewing and downloading on the DOB website at https://www1.nyc.gov/site/buildings/codes/proposed-rules.page.
FFCRA related to Paid Sick Leave
Please be aware that the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA or Act) requires certain employers to provide their employees with paid sick leave and expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19. These provisions will apply from April 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020.
NYC Council Legislation Could Lead to Increased Costs and Regulations
The NYC Council proposed three bills called the “Essential Workers Bill of Rights”. The NYCSRA supports all workers and thanks essential workers for all they do to keep us safe and allow some jobs to remain open. Unfortunately, while well-intentioned, these bills would place devastating financial and regulatory burdens on employers already struggling to protect and save their businesses.
We encourage you to engage the City Council by visiting this Manhattan Chamber of Commerce website, insert your address and alert the NYC Council Speaker and your local Councilmember that you oppose these bills.
