NYCSRA is proud to announce our voice was heard loud and clear, and the deadline to comply with the Construction Safety Act training requirements has been extended to December 1, 2019 . The Department of Buildings also has the option to extend this deadline an additional six months to June 1, 2020, a decision which must be issued no later than September 1, 2019.
As referenced in the NYC DOB LL 196 Update dated May 2019 , the following rules apply:
“Local Law 196 of 2017 requires workers at job sites that must designate a Construction Superintendent, Site Safety Coordinator or Site Safety Manager to receive 30 hours of Site Safety Training by December 1, 2019 and an additional 10 hours of training by September 1, 2020.
Supervisors will need 62 hours of training by the December 1, 2019 deadline. ”
